Who We Are
In keeping with Tradition Nine which states “our groups as such ought never to be organized, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve” the Lone Star Region was created to support areas and groups by providing opportunities for them to communicate with each other, acting on behalf of their common interest, and encouraging the growth of the fellowship.
Lone Star Region Nar-Anon Family Groups (LSR NFG) is an organization of trusted servants with the intent and purpose of providing services to the fellowship it serves. It is an unconventional organization whose leadership is meant to serve, never to govern.
Why We Are
The Lone Star Region sprang from a desire to gather and serve all Nar-Anon Family Groups in the Great State of Texas.
Members of the Nar-Anon Family Groups in Texas who were concerned that Texas was the only state in the United States not covered by an existing region to provide services to the fellowship began its formation on May 1, 2022, to help develop, coordinate, and maintain services on behalf of the groups in the great state of Texas. The region adopted the name “Lone Star” in honor of Texas’ well-known nickname The Lone Star State at the Texas region’s first official Regional Service Committee (RSC) meeting, held on July 31, 2022.
