Nar-Anon is a 12-Step Program for Family & Friends of Addicts©. The mission of the Lone Star Region Nar-Anon Family Groups (LSR) is to provide support to the family groups located in Texas so they may carry the Nar-Anon program of hope to those who suffer because of a loved one’s addiction. Service is the third legacy of recovery. All members of the Lone Star Region Nar-Anon Family Groups are encouraged and welcome to participate in service at the group, region, and/or global levels as their conscience leads them. Just as freedom for the individual comes from the Twelve Steps and freedom for the group springs from the Twelve Traditions, freedom for the service structure flourishes from the Twelve Concepts. The Nar-Anon Family Group Serves Individuals & Its Members

When you attend a Nar-Anon Family Group (NFG), you are no longer alone. In the Nar-Anon Family Groups, you will find love, understanding, and hope. As we begin to understand the family disease of addiction, we are better able to handle our problems and improve our own lives. We can gain support and understanding by listening and speaking with others at Nar-Anon meetings. 1
Members of Nar-Anon find that service is a wonderful way to give back to the program for the peace and serenity they receive when using the tools of Nar-Anon. Step Twelve encourages us to carry the message of Nar-Anon, sharing the strength and hope we received from the fellowship.
While Tradition Nine states in part, “Our groups as such, ought never to be organized,©” it does suggest that an orderly structure and reasonable procedures will make it possible for Nar-Anon to carry the message with maximum effectiveness. Elected Officials of Nar-Anon Family Groups are trusted servants. “In keeping with the spiritual nature of Nar-Anon, our structure should always be one of service, never of governance” (Concept 12).
***NFG Members, please contact your home group to get more information regarding their Group Conscience & Business meetings.
The Lone Star Region Serves Nar-Anon Family Groups in Texas
The fellowship responsible for the LSR NFG resides in the great state of Texas in the United States. All voting representatives from respective groups and elected trusted servants are members of registered Nar-Anon Family Groups located in Texas. The LSR NFG is not organized in the traditional sense of the word; it instead relies on a loving Higher Power as expressed in our group conscience as its sole authority.

The Lone Star Regional Service Committee

The fellowship, via the Nar-Anon family groups in Texas, elects the representative leadership of Texas’ region, also known as the Regional Service Committee, and the groups retain the ultimate authority and responsibility for the entire fellowship. The fellowship adheres to the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Nar-Anon Family Groups not as rules of law but as guiding principles that maintain consistency throughout the worldwide fellowship.
While Tradition Nine states in part, “Our groups as such, ought never to be organized,©” it does suggest that an orderly structure and reasonable procedures will make it possible for Nar-Anon to carry the message with maximum effectiveness. “In keeping with the spiritual nature of Nar-Anon, our structure should always be one of service, never of governance” (Concept 12). Our Regional Service Committee is guided by the principles of Nar-Anon which include the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Nar-Anon Family Groups as well as Nar-Anon’s Service literature, especially Nar-Anon’s Guide to Local Services. This guide is a resource for those in every country committing themselves to providing services necessary to carry the message to the families and friends of addicts.
